So I moved in today. The first photos are posted above. Isn't that fantastic? I can't wait to drink my tea in front of this fabulous landscape. That means I need to get equipped and buy a tea-pot and all. Oh, life sometimes is just way too intense!
The room seems in good condition, except for one plug not working (that's just a minimum for Nepal!), everything is clean thanks to the didi, cleaning ladies, that Ram (the owner) employs.
As you can see on the photos, the room is on the roof, so nobody can see it from the street, and you can access the roof of the room through a little stair on the side. Also the first 2 photos are the street with the building, and Ram's DVD shop.
I bought 2 CDs, among which one from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with the original “Piya Re” and “Afreen, afreen” songs. It is a very nice song I discovered recently, and it is perfect for this time.
This morning (I wake up early here, around 5), during my parikrama/kora gyab (depending who you talk to – the going around the stupa), I came upon a Tibetan mother and her daughter I know from the center where I tutor in Chicago. I knew they were going to come, but there are so many people, I didn't think I would just find her like that! We don't know how and when we will meet again, but why bother? It's going to happen anyway.
Now that I am installed on a more permanent basis, I can actually start to work. It's time.
